DIRTCO built this front
entrance and extended patio with a matching walkway around the
home. The use of natural flat stone allows the more formal front
entrance to blend seamlessly into the relaxed atmosphere of the
rear patio.

The use of stone recessed
in the grass maintains the continuity of the lawn, while
the gradual change in elevation is accomplished with wide low
rise steps leading to a a spacious patio.
The framing
for the main patio level includes a setback in the center for the
broad steps leading to the lawn and additional framing for the steps
projecting out to meet the walk.
DIRTCO crews always
reinforce concrete
with the appropriate amount, pattern, depth and guage of rebar
for structual integrity. In this case the concrete
slab serves as a base for setting the patio stones.
Experienced stone masons
fit the flat finishing stones to the building contours while maintaining
the natual look of a random pattern. The
final step is filling between the stones with mortar.
